Windows 10 S vs. Windows 10 Pro
According to Microsoft, Windows 10 S is more efficient than Windows 10 Pro. If you have upgraded from Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro but don’t like its battery life or the machine’s performance, you may want to downgrade back to Windows 10 S.
The official recovery image for the Surface Laptop
Microsoft just released the recovery image for the Surface Laptop which will allow users to go back to Windows 10 S on your device at the cost of all its files. The 9GB recovery image is available for download to reset your Surface Laptop now.
The fact that Microsoft doesn’t allow you to go back to Windows 10 S from Windows 10 Pro without resetting your device is rather odd. The company would want more users to get the new version of Windows 10 for lots of reasons. Maybe it’s something that the company will add in the future, but for now, you have to settle for the recovery image.
Microsoft offers a simple tutorial for helping users with the process on the same page where the recovery image is. You also have the option of contacting Microsoft Support to get help with the downgrade process.
