Social Media is a double-edged sword. On the one hand it helps you to stay connected and discuss issues that matter. On the other, it’s infested with bullies and trolls who can defame you, should you cross their path or voice opinions that are not to their liking.
Blocking and unblocking are two weapons to be safe from online bullying and annoying individuals. If you don’t want to see posts by a certain person, you’ve got the right to block the person on Twitter. Once you feel that you’ve given enough time to cool-off, you can unblock the blocked person. Here we’re enlisting the steps to block and unblock a user on Twitter:
Blocking on the web –>
Blocking from a Tweet (This method works same on all the three platforms):
Click the icon located at the top of a Tweet from account you wish to block.
Click Block, and then select Block to confirm.
Blocking from a profile:
Go to the profile page of the account you wish to block.
Click the more icon on their profile page.
Select Block from the menu.
Click Block to confirm.
Blocking on iOS –>
- Visit the profile page of the account you wish to block.
- Tap the gear icon
- Tap Block, and then select Block to confirm.
Blocking on Android –>
- Visit the profile page of the account you wish to block.
- Tap the overflow icon
- Tap Block, and then select Block to confirm.
Unblocking –>
Blocking from a profile:
So you’ve let go, and you think you can unblock someone. This is how you do it:
- Visit the blocked account’s profile on Twitter.
- Click or tap the Blocked button .
- Confirm your action to unblock the account by selecting Unblock on Twitter for iOS, and ‘Yes’ on Twitter for Android.
Personally, I don’t think virtual fights should be given any more importance than scuffles you had as a kid. However, I do think that if blocking someone gives you peace of mind, so be it! No matter which platform are you on, it just needs a few clicks or taps and you can enjoy troll-free social networking.
