The backup feature is customizable, which means WhatsApp provides its users the authority to back up their data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, or even not at all if they disable it from settings. How can I backup WhatsApp to Onedrive?
- Install and configure OneDrive app on your phone.
- Open the app and click on the Me tab.
- Go to Settings -> Camera upload.
- If you enable Camera upload (or you already have it enabled) every picture taken with the phone will get synced with your OneDrive account.
- Once you confirm your Microsoft account, some more options will be available. We are interested in the Additional folders option. Tap on it.
- From there you will be able to choose the WhatsApp images folder or the WhatsApp video folder.
That’s it. Now, by default, whenever you are connected via WiFi, your WhatsApp files will be synced to OneDrive automatically.
