When the worst happens, and you find out that someone broke into your house or you need the video from one of your Eufy Floodlight Cameras to identify someone that stole something from your porch, the last thing you want to worry about is whether or not you have enough storage on your device or if the video is going to get deleted before you can give it to the authorities.

The Eufy Floodlight Camera has 4 gigabytes of local storage. That equates to about 20 days of footage at 45 activations per day. All the 1080p models of the Eufy Floodlight Cameras also have access to Eufy’s cloud storage for more video storage.

Eufy is unique with its cameras because it offers local storage. Local storage is not a common feature where most internet-enabled cameras opt for cloud-only storage. With Eufy, you have to get any but the base model to get access to their cloud subscription service. Otherwise, you are stuck with the non-expandable local storage.

The Storage on Eufy Floodlight Cameras

There are three models of Eufy Floodlight Cameras. The Eufy Floodlight Camera and the Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 are virtually identical, except that the Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 records in 2K quality instead of just 1080p. Eufy states the same 20 days at 45 activations per day for both 2K video and 1080p video. The Floodlight Cam 2 is also one of their best outdoor cameras.

Both the Eufy Floodlight Camera and the Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 have 4 gigabytes of local storage that Eufy claims are capable of 20 days of recording at 45 activations per day. After that, the recordings will roll over and record over the oldest recording.

There is also their top-of-the-line Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 Pro. The 2 Pro has a 130-degree vertical viewing angle like the others, but it also has a 360-degree horizontal viewing angle and can record at 2K resolution. The Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 Pro also comes with 8 gigabytes of local storage, which allows it to record up to 30 days of video at 45 activations per day.

Here is a table to compare this information quickly:

The local storage options are great if the internet goes out or there is some other utility problem. However, sometimes extra space is required if you have many cameras or just need to save a large number of videos. This is where Eufy’s cloud storage can help take some of the strain off.

Eufy’s Cloud Storage

If you find that the local storage on your Eufy Floodlight Camera isn’t cutting it, Eufy offers a cloud subscription service to purchasers of its Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 or Eufy Floodlight Camera 2 Pro models. Unfortunately, the base 1080p model Eufy Floodlight Camera doesn’t have access to the Eufy Cloud Storage subscription service.

If you need more storage for your Eufy Floodlight Camera, the Eufy Cloud Storage Subscription is your only option. The Eufy Floodlight Camera doesn’t support third-party cloud storage sites like Google Drive, Microsoft’s OneDrive, or Dropbox. Your only option is to set up an account with Eufy’s Cloud Storage.

Eufy’s Cloud Storage Plans

There are four plans for Eufy’s Cloud Storage has four plans. None of the plans have a hard data limit. All four plans feature a 30-day rolling video history. This means that all video is saved in the cloud, and then at the end of the 30 days, the earliest saved video will be overwritten by the newest recorded video. So, your oldest videos will be slowly deleted.

That means that none of the videos you save to the cloud are permanent. They will all ultimately be overwritten with time.

Conclusion

While the local storage is useful, not supporting third-party storage is a strike against the Eufy Floodlight Cameras. The local storage is still a fair amount, and if you get the Eufy Cloud Storage, the prices aren’t bad for a 30-day rolling video history.

Some of Eufy Floodlight Camera’s competitors do offer the ability to use expandable storage, third-party base stations, or even third-party cloud services. So, that is something to consider if you are still on the fence about which security camera system to purchase.
