Connecting your Wyze to your personalized home Wifi is simple and easy. The steps are similar to connecting any traditional smart home device making use of your phone. Although you would have to pair your smart plug first before you connect it to your Wifi.

To connect your Wyze to wifi, follow these steps:

  • Download and launch the Wyze app right away.This will take you to a Home page where you will click on “Add Device”.Select “Power & Lightning” then select the “Wyze Smart Plug”.Switch on the Bluetooth on your phone.Plug your Smart Plug in a socket, and wait for the blue status light to come on. This means it is ready to pair.The pairing mode would be done automatically.After pairing, name your smart plug according to which device you want to use it on then click finish.

After the first step is done, you will be prompted to select the version of your smart plug. Using reference to the back of your plug, you might see a key symbol (Wyze Plug 2021 version), or no key symbol ( Wyze Plug).

If you have selected the Plug with a key symbol (2021 version), follow these steps:

  • Plug your device into a socket, the status light will flash a blue light indicating it is ready to connect. Select “Next”.Select your home wifi network,  and put in the password. Select “Next”.It will finish connecting automatically. When that is done, name your Smart Plug and click “Finish”.

Older Wyze Plugs

If you have selected the Plug without the key symbol, follow these steps:

  • Plugin your device. The status light would flash blue telling you it is ready to pair. If the light doesn’t come on, press and hold the power button on your plug.Select your home wifi network, and put in the password. Select “Next”.Select the Wifi option for your Wyze Plug and connect.On the app, the smart plug would finish setting up automatically. Once you finished, the blue light would stop flashing, and the app would demand you name your plug. Enter a suitable name and select “finish”.

Ensure that your Wyze Smart plug is connected to the same home WiFi network. If you want to reset the current Wifi information, perform a factory reset. 

How Do I Factory Reset My Wyze Plug?

You may need to factory reset your Smart Plug if you want to change your home wifi. You may also need to perform a reset when your device refuses to connect. 

To perform a factory reset, do this:

  • Press and hold the power button located at the side of the plug. This would trigger the light to flash blue.Once this is done, you can re-setup your Wyze Plug again using the mobile app.

Note: Ensure that your Plug is inserted into the switch. Also, make sure that the switch is turned on during the reset.
