The smartphone market in Kenya is pretty vibrant with players from the likes of Oppo, Infinix, Tecno, and newbies like Realme and Vivo, all scrambling for a piece of the pie.

In all this, the consumer seems to be coming out on top as there is no shortage of options, regardless of what your budget is. Another player that is alive and well even in this stiff competition is Nokia.

And for good reason. The company has been churning out Android One-running devices that are simple, offering a seamless Android experience to the purists in the country who can’t exactly get access to the revered Pixel devices.

Today, Nokia Kenya is moving to further enrich its portfolio by introducing the Nokia X20 into the Kenyan market. So what does this device have to offer? Well, below is the device’s spec sheet.

Perhaps one of the outstanding features of this device is the promised 3 years of updates. See, one area where Apple’s iPhones have been kicking Android OEMs is when it comes to supporting.

While Apple does support its devices for up to 5, sometimes even 6 years, Android phones would be lucky to get supported for more than 3 years, and that is for the flagship devices, meaning the situation is a lot less than ideal for mid and entry-level devices.

The Nokia X20 also packs the Snapdragon 480 chip which is 5G enabled, a feature that is set to interest Safaricom subscribers in various towns across the country where the carrier has deployed 5G.

Like most other devices launched in 2021, the Nokia X20 comes with Android 11 out of the box, along with the promise of 3 years of Android upgrades that we have talked about.

On the camera department, the device packs a 64MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide, a 2MP depth sensor along with a 2MP macro, These sensor’s quality remains to be seen when we get a device for testing.

Speaking at the launch of the Nokia X20 into the Kenyan market, Senior Business Manager Kenya & East Africa HMD Global, Gopher Ogembo, said:
